Michael Bell

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

As the CEO of Global Financial Private Capital, Michael Bell is responsible for running all facets of the business. Mr. Bell has almost 20 years’ experience building and directing highly profitable, growth-focused financial services and asset management organizations.

Prior to joining Global Financial, Mr. Bell launched and managed five successful startups: three financial services companies and two mutual fund companies. The success in these endeavors came through leveraging transactional, operational, and strategic expertise to develop and lead innovative, profitable, and growth-focused initiatives.

During Mr. Bell’s time as President and CEO of Curian Capital, he led the growth of the company from a start-up with less than $1 billion in AUM to over $21 billion AUM in traditional and alternative investments.

Mr. Bell earned a Juris Doctor degree in law from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Science, Commerce from the University of Virginia. Mr. Bell is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds his Series 7 and 24 licenses.



Doug Townsend

Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Doug Townsend is SVP and CFO of Global Financial. Based in Sarasota, FL, Mr. Townsend is responsible for the overall financial management of the company. His role includes direct oversight of the accounting, operations, risk management and human resources functions.

Mr. Townsend has gathered over 20 years of experience serving as the CFO, Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Administrative Officer for a number of broker-dealers and registered investment advisors in Indianapolis, Cleveland, Denver and Dallas. He also served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Colorado’s Ocean Journey, a private non-profit aquarium in Denver.

Mr. Townsend earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Ball State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant, Fellow of the Life Management Institute and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 27 licenses.



Lewis J. Dellarco Jr (“Buck”)

Chief Compliance Officer (CCO)

Buck Dellarco is the CCO of Global Financial. Based in Sarasota, FL, Mr. Dellarco is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the firm’s compliance program.

Mr. Dellarco has gathered over 30 years of experience in the industry within roles such as CCO at Curian Capital and Curian Clearing. There Mr. Dellarco was part of the senior management team that grew the company from a start-up with less than $1 billion in AUM to over $21 billion AUM in traditional and alternative investments, including self-managed and sub-advised mutual funds.

Prior to joining Global Financial, Mr. Dellarco served as the CCO for Acquiom Financial, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SRS Aquiom, Inc.

Mr. Dellarco earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management and Marketing from James Madison University. He is also a graduate of the Securities Industry Association’s (now SIFMA) Securities Industry Institute at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Dellarco holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 27, 53, 63 and 99 licenses.



Andrew Barnett, CFP®, MBA

Relationship Director
Certified Financial Planner™ professional

Mr. Barnett has played a key role in building the Global Financial team for more than twelve years. As one of the firm’s Certified Financial Planning Professionals ™, he has contributed to the development of our Financial Planning Department. In addition, he is a contributing member of Global Financials Investment Committee. He currently provides coaching and advisory services to a select group of families in Southwest Florida and throughout the country.

Prior to joining the company he developed his expertise as an institutional fixed-income portfolio manager and senior managing director in the insurance industry. Mr. Barnett has successfully managed over $2 billion of assets during his career, including many high-profile U.S. and international public and private pension plans. In addition, he has managed several highly rated mutual funds both onshore and abroad.

He holds a Master of Business Administration degree, with an emphasis in Finance and International Economics, from Rutgers University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in English Literature and Computer Science from Washington University.



Mike Sorrentino, CFA

Chief Investment Officer (CIO)

Mike Sorrentino is the Chief Investment Officer at Global Financial. Based in New York, NY, Mr. Sorrentino also chairs the Investment Committee and oversees the development and implementation of investment strategies. Additionally, he provides thought leadership and market insights that are regularly distributed to advisors and investors.

Mr. Sorrentino is a frequent guest on major financial news networks such as CNBC, Fox Business News, and Bloomberg. He is also a contributing columnist on MarketWatch and has been quoted extensively in major newspapers and publications.

Prior to joining Global Financial, Mr. Sorrentino was a Vice President for Barclays Capital and Sanford C. Bernstein, where he worked closely with some of the largest institutional asset managers in the world to derive and execute a wide range of investment strategies. In total, he carries over a decade of capital markets experience with both sell-side and buy-side institutions.

Mr. Sorrentino also spent many years as a management consultant, where he was regarded as a subject matter expert in using the nascent technologies that drove the internet revolution to modernize the business models of his Fortune 500 clients.

Mr. Sorrentino earned his Master in Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his B.E. in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and carries his Series 65 license.
